IBALOIS

The Ibalois occupy the southeast of Benguet. They speak Nabaloy, with a linguistic sound nearer to the Pangasinanse. They are concentrated in Kabayan, Bokod, Tuba, Itogon, Tublay, La Trinidad, Sablan, and Atok. They are generally fair in complexion and well-developed bodies, usually standing to 4 to 5 fee and above in height. The Ibalois are predominantly farmers. With their fertile soil and temperate climate, they are able to raise a variety of crops.

Product Description:

The Topil is made of bamboo skin that are sized and shaved in uniform thickness and woven with hexagonal patterns. This rectagular basket by the Igorots is traditionally used for carrying their lunch provisions when slated to spend a backbreaking day in the ricefields (NOTE: The Igorots are divided into two major tribes, the Ibalois and the Kankanaeys and are known for their agricultural prowess and industry even today).
