THE INE
(US$ x.xx)
Product Description:
Like any other traditional clothes of Bagobos, the Ine, is worn only
during feasts. Ine, meaning "mother" is a narrow panel of tie dyed
abaca fabric. Its center panel is sewn with a brown motif at the middle
in earth tones like russet or burnt sienna.
Ine is perfect as wall hanging decoration and table adornment.
The Bagobos weave their fabric into longitudinal stripe with geometric
designs representing nature and human beings. Their motifs, spaces and
symmetries are recalled only from memory. They weave their fabric using
the traditional loom made of bamboo and polish it with stones and
shells to bring out a special luster and softness. Most of their tie
dyed attire are made of abaca.
