IFUGAO
Ifugao is an ethnic group living the in Ifugao province situated in the
Central Cordillera Mountains of northern Luzon, the biggest island of
the Philippine archipelago. The Ifugao, which is subdivided into major
subgroups, namely Banaue, Mayaoyao, Kiangan, Hungduan, Lagaue, Potia,
and Lamut, inhabit the most rugged and mountainous part of the country.
The main source of livelihood of the Ifugao is agriculture. They plant
potatoes, vegetables and their staple food rice which is grown in the
world famous rice terraces. The Ifugao are very artistic people. They
are expert textile weavers, basket makers, and wood and metal carvers.
