Tausug, which means "people of the current", is a Philippine ethnic group which lives in the northern part of Sulu province. Farming, fishing and trading are their major economic activities. The Tausugs are into carvings, metalworks, woodworks, tapestry and embroidery, mat making and basketry, textile and fashion, pottery and other minor arts.
